Busisiwe Thwala, better known by her stage name Cici, has reportedly dispatched legal representatives to Ambitiouz Entertainment in an effort to leave the record label.

It has been reported by Sunday World that the singer and the head of the record company, Kgosi Mahumapelo, are engaged in a feud. The source of the conflict is said to be the successful song Thula, which features DJ Zinhle.

The label withdrew the music from several of the most popular streaming services until the song was credited to them appropriately.

Mahumapelo claimed that he was the one who filed a copyright complaint against the song because Cici was still bound by an agreement with his record company.

"At this time, the artist known as Cici is still under contract with Ambitiouz Entertainment. Even though Thwala had expressed a wish to depart the company, Mahumapelo confirmed that claims had been filed.

According to Sunday World, Cici and the label allegedly came to an agreement verbally in January for her to be released from her contract and sign with her sister's talent agency, The House of Thom.

However, Sannah, who is the singer's sister and also her new manager, stated that she does not have any influence over the situation at hand.

"The matter is being handled by her legal team for advice therein and upon her instruction," Sannah added. "The matter is being dealt with by her legal team."

According to a source, in relation to the arrangement, "They just had a verbal agreement with Kgosi [Mahumapelo] when she left in January… Now that she is doing so well with all of these songs, it is only natural that he would demand his fair part of the money.

"That is the reason why he is holding her as ransom and why he keeps removing her songs and asking for song credits."
