Sharing her sentiments on her Instagram account, Zodwa posted a picture of herself, highlighting her embrace of the current phase of her life. In her caption, she expressed her unwavering bond with her ancestors, emphasizing that she didn't choose them; they chose her. She added that she continually communicates with them.

In response to a comment from a follower who suggested that her involvement in ubungoma had diminished her popularity, Zodwa acknowledged the sentiment and explained her perspective. She mentioned that she had to make a choice between her public persona, Zodwa Wabantu, and her ancestral calling, and she unequivocally chose the latter. She stressed that while she might not be as popular now, she holds a profound and meaningful connection with her ancestors, making her feel powerful.

Zodwa confirmed in a previous interview with TshisaLIVE in 2022 that she had fully embraced her ancestral calling. Before she started this transformative journey, the exotic dancer and entrepreneur confirmed that she conducted rituals to inform her ancestors of her acceptance of their call. She went on to describe her initial steps, which included a ritual involving a goat, and she even flew an important spiritual figure, uBaba, from KwaZulu-Natal to assist in the process. She shared that she had reached the stage where she had to go to the water, signifying her new role as "nkosazana ya manzi," and that there are more procedures to be done that involve still going to see uBaba.

Reflecting on the timeline of her journey, Zodwa disclosed to TshisaLIVE that the dreams and signs from her ancestors had started to manifest the previous year, particularly in September and October. She explained how her life and choices began aligning with her ancestral calling, such as forgoing makeup and realizing that her expensive jewelry was constantly getting lost, now understanding that it was due to her ancestors' influence. This transformation underscores the significance of her spiritual path, which she now embraces wholeheartedly.
